Yvonne leads classes as a noncompetitive, self paced system of ancient Asian movement designed to rejuvenate, regenerate and recuperate the body. Regular practice strengthens joints, muscles, tendons, internal organs and revitalizes one 'CHI' or vital energy.
Tai Chi can be considered a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. One of the aims of Tai Chi is to foster the circulation of chi within the body and by doing so, to enhance one's health and vitality. The movements in Tai Chi are done slowly, smoothly and gracefully and can be used for healing and as a martial art. Tai Chi is a proven antidote to stress and tones muscles without the punishment of violent exercise.
Qigong: We live in a field of Chi, "vital breath" or " life energy." Yet, like a fish in water, we are unaware of the medium that supports us. Chi Gong means “energy work”. It is the ancient Chinese art and science of becoming aware of this life energy and learning how to control its flow through a precise choreography of posture, movement, respiratory technique, and meditation.
